| I watch a lot when pro players play poker. And the most famous joke of theirs envolves 72 off suited hand. The guy who wins with that kind of hand shows at the end that hand and they have a lot of fun. I wanted to try this in Brittish Crown. I got my off suited 72 and raised to 320 when the starting SB BB was 5/10. My plan was everyone would be scared of this amount of raise and fold and i show them the cards and we'll lough. But not everyone folded. A player whom i deeply respect called. the flop was 77A. I immediately all ined and he folded. (Probably he had QQ or KK.) The thing is I showed my cards. Well, his reaction was --> he left, saying He don't play this kind of poker. After that, I felt real bad of myself and lost my hand intentionally to another player and left too. Well, it was 0330 am and i had to sleep also But the point is --> Do we need a bit FUN on poker tables or not?Well, bad loss, good loss, terrible loss, bad luck loss, very unlucky loss... all of them are losses and all of them hurt. For example I had AK in a previous tourney. I raised 10 times the BB which was 20 to 200 chips. I thought, I'm being reasonable here. Another player (BD) whom I respect all ined me. I called. He had 88 and won. What should I feel? Do I have to feel better that my AK was beat by a medium pair? Or do I have to feel worse that a good player made a bad play here? Therefore, I think we need to play well... but don't forget to have fun as well Its just a poker.P.S. A word of advice. If in a tourney, you raise and you are being reraised by Tictalk it means He has a high pair at least TT.

| I do that too Bon :P But u gotta pick your spot carefully ( usually a limped pot and never do it in an early position) And yes the pros do play the 7 2 game in cash games whereby if they win a hand with it, they get something like 500 dollars from every player. As for the hand you mentioned with BD, I dont see how that is bad play...he got it in with the best hand, and the best hand won.

| it was me that went off with the huff. and why?. let me say 1st of all i take my fair share of bad beats, dust myself down and get on with it. but at a time when we struggle to get the op tourneys going this type of play wont help. i understand the 27 off ploy, but with the blinds so low its not a great time to try it,thats my opinion. i hold no grudges bonik and wish you a happy new year.

Bonik....I don't know you but.. HI ![]() There are two very big differences between the '72 off suit' game that the pros play, and what you said you did in the tourney. 1. The pros do it in cash games ( ring games ). NEVER in tournaments. 2. They ALL KNOW that that game is being played. I agree about having fun. You're spot on that free chip play should have an element of fun. On the ring tables we used to play all sorts of games like - the 7 2 game or all in blind next hand. All the players on the table were friends...we used to play the same tables regularly.( those were the days ). But in a tournament there are a lot of people who are playing to win. If they have no idea in advance that you're playing that game, then it's understandable that they might feel that you are making fun of them, rather than trying to have fun with them. As Tel says, he has no hard feelings, so all is good there. If you fancy a laugh and playing the 72 game and so on, let me know when you play.. and what tables... If I can find time, I'd like to join you. Happy new year P.

| Fact remains... tourney or rings... pay the entry fee and play as you please (of course, we haven't ever addressed this before on the forum!). Happy New Year, all! |
