I have noticed more and more people showing their real pictures on their home page or in their albums.

Which has made pose this question.....
Do you think being an onimous to your fellow players is a benefit or a hindrance??????

I like to be an onimous .... Keeps em guessing lol....

What are your thoughts

Iam not sure it matters Zen,on the other hand we all know where mens brains are as shown above by our esteemed brothers jerry and king.....Iam sure a pretty face and a bit of make up would detract their attention from the game in hand.....

Nice thread zen. I have never posted picture and it will stay that way - my pictures are only for my fatty cherry. But hey if my darling cherrypie did not post picture who knows i m may never find her and I may never love her lol.

to me it makes no difference, maybe it would/could when new to the site, but most here have prob seen a pic of me at some time on the forum.

but then again just because someone posts a picture, who's to say if its there picture or not, could be anyone

Great thread, Zen.. and interseting question.
I've wrestled with this issue myself.
Although I cannot speak to why others have brought their pics here, I can say that I HAVE found myself thinking about other people differently or even playing them differently after I've either seen their pic or learned something personal about them ( their age, for instance).
but on the other hand, i can also understand how others might try to use that to their advantage ( as per lynda's suggestion,, yes SOME men [grrrrr, lynda...] are shallow enough to be distracted by pretty hair and makeup ), or even the possibility that someone may be confident enough in their game to not care whether or not others know what they look like.
Its all a head game lol, and ya never know what others have going through their minds.

As far as my own personal feelings... well, Im certainly not gonna advertise my appearance lol, but there IS a pic of me hidden deep in in my albums for my friends who care to take the time to see. As far as my 'poker face', though... I prefer to let my play define me, not my appearance.

..dunno if that answers your question or not, tho lol.

I don't think it matters, I have just not posted a pic yet because Ive been doing other things. LOl it has not been high on my priority list. We are sitting behind a computer so I don't think it matters at all if someone knows what you look like. Knowing what someone looks like is not gonna change the way they play you or anyone else at least for me.

ie Darthyoda.....I didn't realize he was a family man with a few kids...
Had the impression he was a young kid...
Soz Darth but that was my impression but you definitely play better than a young kid

yes zenola u have given a issue that goes both ways some people r very private and theres people who will give there picture and full details ..i think hey upto urself what u want is the most important issue live life to the max ......cool...

zen hun as cool said they way u play defines ur poker face

DarthYoda was my 11year old sons idea and yeah i do play to the image sometimes but anyone who takes the time to visit my profile can see the real me as well
i dont think an kid would have been able to win 6 medals in three months (including 3 gold) however if people dont take their time to study their oppenents and get fooled by image i'll be glad to take their chips

I was just using you as an example of some1 every1 is familiar with.
If you have a closer look I was giving you a back handed compliment..
As I myself have accomplished a similar total in the same amount of time.

i really dont care if people see me or not...how i play is determined by how i feel....i can play tight or loose...crazy or sane....you guys are the ones that have to work out which Bobble is playing....a picture of someone is just that...a picture...you cant read their poker face in a photo
