Question ethic behaviour

yesterday i was playing the Mammoth Tourney but during the game, the things was going too long (afer 30 mins there was still 6 ppl sat) & i had to go.

so i decided to give my chips away & i went all in..
i do it twice & then my friend Jazzfrog suggested me just 2 sit out..

i never thought that there was a general ethic behaviour for this kind of situation so i'd like 2 know what u guys/girls usually do in this case..

Ps. i think i will follow Jazz's advice, i don't want 2 shock the balance of the game anymore, even if i do it with a good cause.

The advised thing to do is just say your goodbye's and sit out..
Even good intention all ins can be annoying..
If some one calls and you get the hand, then knock them out its not fair..
People have been know to do this with a good hand in order to get easy chips.

I'm all for the sit out until you get eliminated thing, I feel it's the right thing to do. Sure it hurts to do, I've had to do it at least 3 times in multi-table tournaments, but I feel that it give players an unfair chip advantage. Some players though feel that everyone payed the same amount to get in so it's upto them if they want to just give them away.

It certainly affects/spoils the game whe someone goes all in to leave rather than sitting out. I've known players say whats in their hand (say 8,3) then go all in; their opponent goes all in with K,J - an 8 comes and bye, bye.

it you only had 30 minites to play a mini then you should not have started it in the first place but since you did why not try this tell the others you have to go and say you are going all in and then tell them your hand let them deside what they want to do

Im for the sitting out, I had to do it the other day as I had got further than I thought and the game was so slow, but i had entered a big one. Wish I hadnt sat out though I didnt get nowhere!!!!!!!!!!

It does affect the balance if you go all in, but hey this is poker and alls fair and all that

Same than Roo, m8. I would say bye & sit out, unless just at the threshold of points or money.

My advice is to just sit out. Close ya window, log off etc. Ive told other players on occasion that i gotta dash off an gone all in etc. and its always back fired. Also if the players don't know you then they will think u r tryin to con them out of their chips and any in-site respect u've gained may be jeopardised as they may see you as a cheat/liar.
Its not worth it just opt out of the game
Kerry.

That's the best thing to do.Because if you have to really go,then go all-in and WIN,now what? You go all-in again? That just means you're still stuck playing AND making ppl mad.So if you have/want to leave, simply check "sit out" box,and we'll catch you next time.Cheers.

Looks conclusive.. the ethical thing is to sit out...

What about when the cards dissapear.. what then.. My view fold or check the hand down if yr the blinds.

Mac

oh!!!!! ooops
what a kindly lot you are!!
I go all in if I have to go - I dont think it spoils the game, maybe even spice it up a bit, I also go all in if the lag starts to drive me nuts.
I sometimes ask if people mind, or tell players I've gotta go - but it wouldnt change what I do if someone started preaching to me about ethics. Its a game for chips
