i dont know what (factual rule) you are talking about chuck. every casino i have played in, if you are not in your seat at start of tourney you pay penalty til you take your seat.

T.B.H Those rules was not interpreted when my team mate "Namely Bbob" was unable to get connection in the international a few months ago. He had paid his entry fee, but because he was unable to play a hand our team wasn't awarded points..?

Ok curb you talkin Ring games or tourneys, and if there is a tourney penalty so be it,but you shouldnt be booted from the tourney,I suppose I was refering to the rules in which TBH presented, that is where my facts are based.

On a personal note and only Speaking of my personal feelings,I see absolutely know advantage of sitting out, while it may be that you can save yourself for awhile after a big chip lead,I view that as a strategy.Rare if ever, have I seen a sleeper win that tourney,in fact I cannot recall ever seeing it happen.Sleepers do not bother me in the slightest,I gladly accept their blinds while they are away, and when and if they return, I gladly play them for whatever is left.

thats because it was a PRIVATE tournament and the rules are sometimes varied by the tournament organiser

in general tho one this subject, yes on the 1st script as it was our own site Lava had the ability to alter things slightly to enable players to be removed from a tournament for sitting out for so many hands.

as we are now part of a network and all the programming etc is in the networks hands i could never see it possible to be re introduced.

i still have to agree tho that if u pay to enter you have the right to sit out and not play, enen if at time it can be annoying to others

I enter with intent to play, but will admit I am guilty of desk crashin at times during play. I honestly wish it would fold me as I am embarrassed and ashamed if I end up winnin points while sleeping. The other day I was playing STL and I had to leave before it ended. I so wish there would have been a leave table button as I felt so bad posting blinds and folding. I did apologize b4 I left and am grateful for the acceptance.

no worries chuck..... but rule of thumb in casino's in calif anyway. if you are not present you pay penalty and your seat waits for you until the first break. if you are still a no show after break is over you are eliminated from the tourney.

thats all well and good curb as long as long as thats the standing rule you have no argument from me,what I am curious about,is what you find unfair about the way we do things here.Do you feel that there is some type of advantage by being a sleeper?I know there are folks here that think this, what is your perspective on that, I am interested to know, because I have always found you a formidable player, and respect your opinion.

i just dont think its right that a person that doesnt even play a hand can get points or a medal, which has been done btw. happens alot with tourneys with a low amount of players.

i agree also with you TBH. if you enter a tournament you have the right to sit out as far as that goes.BUT not without penalty.

I have done so while inadvertantly falling alseep and I am not proud when that happens. I do wish game would take me out when I miss "x" number of hands. I would even crash more if it would do so lol

On a side note ... There would be NO Wombats most days without the sleepers ...
we struggle to get 15 players most days and many of us go to the ring table and beg people to play even if they post and fold ...
for some of us this is the only op66 tourney we get to play ...
and yet by the end of the 20mins late registration we end up with almost 30 players

So I say thankyou to the people that sign up just so this tournament actually runs

those people should be commended for making the tourny happen, but if hey havent played a hand they should be eliminated at the break. very simple,if they are in 13th place at the break then thats fine they get the 3 points. but not be able to hang all the way into the medals.

iv sat out before now. one time i was chip leader and i doubled up two short stack players. it annoyed me because i was ahead preflop both times. so rather then going on tilt and losing more chips i sat out. to save me from my own stupidity after about 30 minutes i calmed down can came back. went on to get a medal.

a second time was in a sit and go. i got annoyed at something else( happens a lot ) i sat out went for a shower came back and won.

i dont see anything wrong with sitting out
