Have social networking sites and phone apps killed the practise chip sites online?

Just throwing it out there,think might make a great topic for discussion..

Lunch break today,most people have there i phones or andoids out playing with apps or texting,or facebook
Lad next to me is playing poker,so i have a look..how ya doing? He says i need a 8 or a 5 This is pre flop with about 4 of 6 players all in allready...do you laugh or cry?
The scary part is he thinks he KNOWS how to play poker now and is itching to hit casinos..

Just got me thinking,theres 'poker' on myspace,facebook,mobile phones..everywhere now,free chips,donations,daily giveaways,..i know people at work who play on zinga..have bought practise chips for cash? wtf

No tutorials.no respect or love for the game,no idea of hand ranks,odds,position...

Everyone plays poker now and most not well..the days of being on an online site where chips were loved and cherished like real money have gone..

Is this how the bingo era began?

I could add loads more but hope others will,but keep it a play nice thread mates

there is an app on facebook called gambino poker, it gives u a daily bonus every day, guess how much? 40 million chips!!

every player is all in every hand no matter what there hand is, even on the bigger tables on there ive seen ppl go all in with crap with 500mil chips lol it just ruins the game totally..

i have 5 billion chips on there just from sitting back and waiting for a good hand then shove with it and get 8 callers lol

so the ppl that are new to poker will think this is the way to play and it is clearly NOT!

Had a phone app/game before I joined OP 66 all ins every hand which more often that not won ! I believe due to this site I am a more rounded opponent without so much Donk play as in my earlier game,which is basically down to the excellent players on this site...thanks guys (not ready for a casino yet though )

Sadly I cannot provide a comprehensive response as I am not on any social networking sites and dont have any phone apps.

then again, the phone i use doesnt even have a camera. Guess its an un-smart phone.

after talking to some people i know who play on facebook and the other stuff thats out there, I have learned pretty much what Deano said.

Its sad that people learn poker this way. This Zanga app is simply rotten
