Hi I made this thread because i was wonering how the card system is worked. This question came to me because it seems that my friend has had an unusually bad streak. I was watching him play, whilst at his house, and he was getting pre-flop cards like ace, king suited and ace,ace and he obviously thinking he had a good hand raised the pot. the unusual thing was that he was losing to cards like 2s and rubbish things like 2 pairs. I know that this happening may 2 or 3 times isnt unusual but this ust have happened to him like 20 times in one day. I couldnt believe it he went from about 45k to like 10k from gettin chipped down from raising before the flop and getting no helpful cardss so having to fold or bluff. I have heard of this happening to alot of people 'Bad Streaks', but are they really bad streaks? is the free tables like a place where you get taught that you can easily lose? is it fixed? Can someone please help me with this thank you. ![]()

| It is certainly not fixed. Sounds like a bit of bad luck to me. Better to get it on the free tables than real money.

| The system is totally randomised, as answered by a mod in an older thread. Everyone I have ever met here trusts lava and the mods, so if one of them said its not fixed, its not fixed

if your friend thinks about things logically any pair is just that,if he has a pair, there are only 2 more cards of that denomination left to find, consequentlythe chances of him improving his hand from a high pair is exactly the same as anyone improving their hand from a low pair.it would not make sense to think that the games are fixed,it would be of no advantage to anyone. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I feel in my gut these games are NOT fixed. I've been playing for 3 or 4 weeka now. I've never had this much fun in a month in my life I have been nothing but impressed with this site. My only wish is that though i have not made the top 66 on any list yet, that I could see my statistics as they are at the moment. I'd like to know, or realize how close or far I am away

the system could fail though I have had pocket aces twice in a row. How probable is that

I have to say I've had the same hand in a row a couple of times on more than a few occasions.I really don't think this is anything more then what it is, you just happened to get the same hand again.I don't think it would be any different if you were playing real poker, that's just the way it rolls. Sometimes it's unfortunate for you and others it's in your favore..Good luck..

The other thing to keep in mind is the computer can't predict which hands you'll play and which you'll fold.I've folded a lot of crap hands that would have won and played good hands that lose.Plus you can't predict the bluff factor.wink wink nudge nudge

haha lol yerr wink wink bluff bluff... it just seems wierd to me thats all the same thing just happened to me...well yesterday anywqy i was playin at the same table for about 2 hours getting really good hands and losing ... i had a 3 of a kind at 1 point and got beat by full house which i was pretty anoyed at haha ![]() i played around 25 games folding alot on the beginner and newbie tables i lost 150 from 250 on the beginner table without a win for about 20 games...m,ainly due to blinds or thinking i had a good hand. I did come out a winnier tho after winning 1 game i was up to around 500. which i thought was pretty good and a good thing to keep in mind when losing and gettin inpatiente. I then moved onto the newbie table kept losing for around 20 games and then won to bring me back to plus ![]() not to bad i was thinking ![]()

the interesting thing about "random" is that it is truly random, each hand having the same chances of each time the cards are dealt. for instance: today in a tourny, in the first 8 hands I got Ace, 6 FOUR TIMES!!!! and won with them only once, by the way. just like a coin toss, you have equal chance of getting heads 10 times in a row as much as tails or 50/50.

you do see some pretty unlikely hands like the other day i saw the flop of 777 twice in three hands but u also see that randomness heaps in regular poker. I would doubt very much that it was rigged... just a run of bad luck.
