Idea for a new tourney

I'm thinking of running a new tourney to fill in the middle of each month. To be played over three nights during the third week of every month. 3 players per team with a football touch. European Cup tourney with the following teams.
Man Utd
Barcelona
Man City
Real Madrid
Inter Milan
Roma
Arsenal
Chelsea
Porto
Bayern Munich.

To save any arguments I will draw which players are in which team otherwise we would have a queue for Man utd and no one for Porto. Only the top ten to score, 20 to winner going down in two's to 2 to the tenth. If enough are interested we can start in October.

great minds fred, i was thinking of doing something similar with the prem but never got round to it.

It will fill the gap between the internationals. If need be we can draw the teams every month so players with an affiliation to one of the teams should at least play for their team at least once.

Can we get an "American Football" team in the mix Fred? I know for a fact we can easily put into play a Pittsburgh Steelers Team! Just off the top of my head I'm thinking Sweeny, Jim, and Myself for starters.

It's not the team name that's important Chooch and if we gave players the choice I can assure you everyone would want to play for either Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, or Arsenal, this is why I decided it must be drawn out. The only other way is for groups of 3 to put their names up then I will draw their team name once we have thirty players.

do we need to be in teams of 3 before you draw the football team names?

I'd prefer if we drew out the teams Pappy, it would be more interesting, would throw up some great teams I reckon and stop the same old trio's playing together. The draw would be more interesting than the game lol. If we only get twenty players it would be two per team. I thought a redraw of teams every month.
