Default International tourny players please read..........

We are almost at the end of another brilliant International Series and with One night left its a very close call...Its a very enjoyable and very friendly tourny with loads of great support every night. With One tourny every month, its not really possible to crown any country OP66 world champions,so I would like too hear your views on an idea I have to solve this...Every month the country that wins will be allowed to nominate One player from their team to represent their country in an end of year one off grand final tourny. The more times your country win the monthly tourny the more players you will have in the grand final tourny and obviously the better chance your country will have of becoming OP66 world champions....The countries themselves can choose the player to represent them whatever way they wish. The grand final tourny will consist of 12 players, one for each month and the winning country will hold the title for One year.As we only started this series last month,we will have 5 players in this years grand final.....

To be honest I was a bit unsure of the format until I was asked to play on wednesday. I must say that it was a great experience, that I very much enjoyed being part of. The whole thing has been very well run. The only suggestion that I can offer to improve it in any way is for a specific password to ensure that only those nominated to play take part.

Congrats to all involved in organising this , Jimmys idea also gets my vote !

Sounds good to me.

Another great idea from Jimmy.

Everyone who takes part in these tourneys love them, I think it a real shame that more countries aren't represented.

Having said that, I don't see what else could be done to attract new blood so to speak. Both tourneys to date have been well advertised on the forum, so if people aren't interested there isn't a lot anyone can do. It's still a shame though

Thanks Jockney..I did PM Lava about a specific password for the series but he couldnt do anything for us at the time..If yourself or Kev could do anything it would be so much appreciated by all the players....Its not as enjoyable when the table is split even when the gatecrashers post and fold..........

A certain Pig was spotted lurking in the Outlaws Ulta last night, maybe after they have finished licking their wounds from Wembley ( sorry Shrooms , one must gloat while one can) we may see the formation of a Croatian team too.

Im sure JOYa , Mcudlu , and the pig himself could form the neucleus of a very strong team

Trying to get others involved can only mean teams 2, 3 or 4 from Europe or USA. No-one to blame...just time zones.
I had an Asia team very eager to play but then they get told they must play at 4.00am or 5.00am. Understandably difficult for those with work the following morning or family responsibilities.

I'm sorry daddysean, I already knew that you had a team ready for the first tourney and that it was only the time difference that stopped you. I could have put it much better than I did.

But the fact does remain that there are many countries not represented where the time difference is not a factor. I still think that it's a pity that they aren't joining in. They are missing out on a great event and we are missing out on the added competition and banter that comes along.

Hopefully there will be more in the next event

Pls no need for sorry. I hope you do not think my post was aimed at you personally. I said the time zone thing was no-ones fault, just one of those things. There are many member in Asia and Australia that have to miss out because of the difficult timing.

Thanks,
Sean

I am up for it as well, but I agree Sean, we also had a lot of players that couldn't play for USA because of the timing. It was 4pm for us here on the east coast, but 1pm on the west coast...middle of the work day for most.

Jimmy, I don't suppose you could some how manage 2 tourneys so that all that wanted to could have a chance to play, could you??

most of the tourneys, in fact all i think, are created by people on this side of the pond, ie. tels, jimmy's, buddha's, Lfc's, which is why they start at an awkward time for the rest of the world. the only way to solve it is if another country create their own tourney in another invite slot. if someone from Australia/USA started a tourney and did it in their evening, then the members from there wouldnt miss out and anyone able to play from our side could still join in, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be many people from these countries who have the time or inclination to get a tourney going, and until this happens, the rest of the world are going to struggle with the time zones...
