Invitational tournaments

Please Please Please if anyone is considering registering for an invitational tournament can they please check calendar first. The word "invitational" means INVITE only. Once again an international tournament this evening was spoiled by 5 uninvited members who have not checked forum or calendar. I know this has been written about on numerous occasions but hopefully one day members will take notice of the calendar and not spoil the games when registering when NOT INVITED.

It seems as though this is an issue with every International tourney, this one was just extremely worse than most.

What people don't seem to understand is that it does throw the whole game off.

Since there doesn't seem to be any solutions that Lava can come up with any time soon, I have another idea in dealing with these people.

Because I have seen where they are all in for the blinds and can still win, I say forget the post and fold thing. Have them call all the first round of blinds then fold. This will make their chip stack diminish quicker, and get them out faster.

The only other solution I can think of is that each invite time slot should have it's own password. The original one is too well known, so everyone thats ever played an invite knows it. This I think will also help to cut off the crashers...for a short time anyway.

I may just be talking out of my rear right now, and it may in fact might make no sense at all, but obviously something needs to change.

I know Breezy's second idea has been requested and rejected due to technical issues.

Her first idea might work though. If a gatecrasher was requested to sit for the duration of their chips manually calling every blind and then manually folding every hand they just might be sickened enough to check the calendar next time.

And she's right, it would get them out of the game faster too.

I think that the gate-crasher should visit the forum.....if for nothing, but to check the calender. Not hard for anyone to do...just a lack of not wanting to check on it before registering. Until a better solution.

to be honest this really annoys me i understand people can make a mistake and enter but i'm sure ive seen a few of the same people do this now this must just be out of badness and is ruining a great idea.
This tourney must be hard enough to organise with-out all this hassle.

This is my last international tourney cant be bothered with it i'm ment to be playing thursday if there is any scots not in a team that would like to take my place pm me and let me know

its annoying I think a new password would stop most if not all and if the password is only given to captains who can pm team members I can't see how anyone can gatecrash

I was not there last night to see this fiasco..After 4 on Monday we had 5 last night....Iam begining to think there is more then an innocent motive for this.Looks like to me we had a player who played on Monday night and still gate crashed the game on Tuesday night........Basicly whats going on here is a complete lack of understanding from the staff/mods of this site regarding a vast amount of their more hard core members....We have 8 teams this Month..40 players and probably at least 20 reserves....That is 60 members.Members who play here every day..These are hard core members that keep this site going and they do not need to be treated the way they are by OP66...There has been no effort at all to try and fix this.I have been told this is not a permanent tourny.....This is very much a permenant tourny...Its on the First Mon/Fri of every Month...How less permanent can that be..Every other suggestion has been ignored or turned down...The Ireland A team did intend too boycott this Months series in protest.On a personal level,Iam sorry we didnt..All I can suggest now is for all of you to PM Lava and the moderators and demand a solution.

Not only did we have one member show up both nights, but yes Jimmy, I know of at least one crasher that has done this before. People don't seem to understand what the word "INVTE" means.

As far as boycotting it, I won't say that the USA team(s) will, but it's harder to get people to play, and I personally probably won't (except as a reserve) until something is done. I'm easily enough distracted, and don't need any extra distractions or aggravations.

It's very disappointing to think that another tourney was created after the International was created, and it gets it's own name in the lobby and it's own password, yet we still have to deal with the stress every month.

Is the only way to fix this is have it every week?? That doesn't make sense. Obviously the powers that be can create new tourneys, I don't understand why once a month we can't get our recognition as well.

can i suggest that if this duz happen again, we all have a quick think of who might have these gatecrashers on msn...or maybe a fone number, failing that, stick them on your buddy list and see if they are seated anywhere else? thats what me and jimmy usually have to do...its worth a try anyway

It didnt matter last night sal delvis tried to unregister i pmd a mod at his request and they still couldnt unregister him so ......... CHECK THE CALENDAR or if in doubt dont register!

Quarter of an hour before the start we tried getting him unregistered by mod after hed tried for 15 mins so dont know what else us mere mortals can do
