| In my opinion, i think that Ace King in the hole is probably the best starting hand to have. I mean, a pair of Aces is great, but having Ace King gives you a chance for getting the highest possible straight. And it gets even better when they are suited! What do you think? ~peace ![]() |

| They are my bogey cards whenever i get them they let me down, yes they are supposed to be one of the best but in my opinion its all about how you use them and even then they can let you down like they do for me everytime on this site

| they are one of the premium hands.. the best non-pair starting hand giving you the best odds to win unless you come up against a pair and even then its no more that about 55:45 unless yr against Aces or Kings. For kings its down to 30% and for aces its just 11% Against every other combination you are favourite. The reason most people lose is that they don't eliminate the opposition quickly enough, they limp in with 4-5 others and wonder why another hand beats them. You ideally want 1 or 2 opponents in any fight where the odds are for you. Put in a big pre-flop raise 4-5x the big blind or more if you are against loose players. If they call then you may lose but at least most of the time the odds are in your favour. If whenever you bet this is the position then in the long run you will be a winner.. Luck doesn't come into it. Hope this helps Mac |

But a question: So you get two players in, but don't hit anything on the flop. What do you do then? |

| I don't think i've ever won a hand with AK, just seems to be bad luck for me. I bet it every time and loose chips, I'm even considering starting folding it!!! Thing is I know as soon as i do AAK will flop.lol

| A K is worthless unless you get a good flop and I would never raise with this hand, I even saw someone go all in after the flop even though there was no A or K there so really there not that good. |

| Great hole cards, but an ace is definitely my jinx card, never win with it. I've even had a pair & still not won. "I never wins with an ace in me hand" ![]()

| Why go all-in there is merit in the hand and yet it is often beaten as it is only two cards of five. Consider it's merit against the odds and it can be a handy head start. You can fold without major loss or when AAK flops in then go all in. Play the cards in hand and not what you would like >> Less starters does make the odds improve. |
