Hi all,

I'm gonna be subjective here. I don't usually post a lot here coz I prefer not to get involved in the debates of the forums. You prolly already know this judging from my post count. haha..

I'm new here compared to a lot of u folks so there's no way I'm closer to Lava than a lot of you. People I play poker with everyday on the tables. I'hv sat with u peps on rings, minis & big Ts, and I find the majority of you to be a friendly lot. So seeing your 'anger' here took me a little by surprise. Guess it shows how much this place means to us all..

I (like some others) have never complained about the lag. In fact, I kidda liked it. It gives me time to play 2 tables at the same time, do some table chat, let me go make myself a cuppa or answer nature's call when I folded a hand, etc. I liked the 10-20 secs lag...

Okie, let's now assume that the old script CAN'T be modified to accomodate more than 1 server (as is already stated on another thread). As more and more members join, the lag's just gonna get worse. What if it reaches the point where it takes 10 minutes for a hand to go round the table once, and 20-30 mins to play ONE hand? Would you (and me) start complaining then? Would we then ask Lava why he didn't do smthing about it earlier? Chances are... YES, WE WILL.

THE LAGS WILL GET WORSE TO THE POINT THAT THE OLD SITE WILL BECOME UNPLAYABLE. That's a fact... as true as the sun will rise the next morning. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out. For those who's said don't fix anything that ain't broken... well, it IS broken (the incremental longer lag time over the past 6 months is prove), cracks are showing, and if nothing is done, it will shatter. The change is inevitable.

Folks, stop the pessimism and anger and think for a sec... All the time we spent PLAYING to make all the friends we r saying we r gonna miss now, all the time we spent PLAYING to familiarised ourselves with the layout of the old site, that we r saying we are gonna miss now.... What was Lava doing??

-----> He was spending the same (maybe much much more) amount of time WORKING on the site to give us the site we all so dearly love and miss now. In almost all the thread written about this test, is there ONE thread that expressed our appreciation of what Lava has done? ---> NO.

Even in the face of such torrid and continueous verbal abuse, Lava has carried himself in a dignified and exemplary manner. Not once losing his cool, when he has every right to.

There's a thread where the software person for the old (and new) site is asking for suggestions to improve the new site, done with Lava's blessing. Does this shows that he DON'T care how we feel? Does it shows that he's abusing his powers and is not sensitive to our needs? Why are we then giving him an ultimatum? "Give us back EVERYTHING we want... or we leave!"

If someone were to talk like that to us in real life, over smthing we own, how would we react? Would we be as patient, as gracious as Lava? I think for most of us (me included).... NOT.

If we say we love this site and the friends here so much, what's a little sacrifice like not being able to see everything at one go? Not as 'user-friendly'? Think of all the precious accumulated months Lava has spent slogging thru sleepless nites to make this great site that we all came to love.. while we are happily playing poker, chatting and making new friends. Is this gratitude?

So folks, stop making sweeping statement like "Lava, u have disappointed us, give us back the old site.. or a lot of us will leave!". Why push Lava to the point where he might go: "F*** this. Am I really doing all this, sacrificing my sleep n time, for this ungrateful lot?!?".

Com'on people, I have said in another thread, I LOVE the old site. Love everything about it. The ease of use, the format, the chat, the AVs I associate with so many friends here (I'm lost w/o my lightsabre I tell ya.. ), the name of the tables, the big Ts, the gold medals, the top lists, etc.

In THREE days, he has:

- Posted 6-8 threads to appease our anger and queries, just for us,
- created mini tourneys, just for us,
- Brought back a higher buy-in ring table, just for us,
- I heard, the big Ts are also back (okie, not as good as the ones we had, but it's a start, right?), just for us.
- He has listed some of the top lists (the rest are to follow), just for us.
- He has already said he'll try to make chat possible while not seated, just for us.
- He's gonna make avatars, just for us,
- He's gonna make the new site as user-friendly and as similiar to the old site, as possible. Just for us.
- He's listening to all our suggestions (obvious with the above-mentioed thread) and trying to incorporate them. Just for us.

All this, in THREE days (!?!). I dunno about you folks but I, for one, am dumb-founded as to how he has managed to do all that in THREE days! And what does he gets in return? GO READ THE FORUMS.

So, why are we complaining and whining like little children when our parents take away our toys and tell us to go to bed when it's time to sleep??

Com'on u kind and loving folks, give the man a break.

Some of you nice poker PLAYING folks are asking for a miracle. You want EVERYTHING from the old... and you want it NOW! Or else...

Like I said, I dunno Lava that well. In fact, not well at all. But maybe that's an advantage.. coz I'm not biased towards him. But judging from his threads, posts and replies, he is wasting countless hours and doing his darnest best to please us undeserving, whining mortals..

but alas... he is not GOD.

all well and good JEDI, except....

WHAT THE FRUCK DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET SOMEONE'S ATTENTION.

I can't log in to the new site ------- I have followed all the proper protocols ----- even had Uyto working the issue with me only to get a parting message "its beyond my competence".

I have one more PM out to Bassmaster...... it's my last hope.

Bottom line ---- it is IMPOSSIBLE to LIKE the new site if you can't LOGIN to the NEW SITE.

Well said Jedi. I have been thinking pretty much the same thing, just hadn't got round to actually posting anything yet.

Personally, if I were Lava, by now, I probably would have shut the free side down and just concentrate on the money side.

Just one other thing, people have accused Lava of getting greedy and going after the $$$$. I would just like to ask, to anyone who has said that, do you work for free?

Nicely put. As I've played now for 48 hours, I'm getting used to it. It might be easier for me to accept since I only joined a few months ago. I did like the green velvet however, bring it back! please. There's nothing wrong with meeting new friends. Just in a short time, I have had great chat on a few tables-some from the old (mostly) and some from the new. Lets give it a little time before we judge. Hope everyone takes a deep breath!

It would be easier to JUDGE if the powers-to-be would resolve the issues to let the oldies in!

could not put it better myself.. but no chips cant play like 30% of the ppl hear i dont mind the new site but just give us our chips from old side to play new side ,as many ppl found out (no named user in old site so how do we get our chips)and thank u leva for this FREE SITE .........

Thankyou Jedi. I have been trying to make these points, but I am new here and my voice doesn't carry anywhere near as much weight as yours,as everybody knows who you are even if they haven't had the privelege to meet you. Please,people,listen to the man. Lava and his team are doing everything they can to give us all what we want,and I believe they will get there. Remember that Rome wasn't bult in a day. The site will be almost exactly as it was,except without the lag and with different graphics...if we just give it time. I don't know about anyone else,but as a site member for around a month I already feel part of a great community.I joined for the poker,but stayed for far more. And it is thanks to Lava that we have this community. We should never forget that. People keep saying that things will never be the same...there is no justification for that at all. What Lava has given us once he can give us again.I think we owe him far more than he owes us. I may be new,but that doesn't make me either stupid or blind. Patience,people,it's a virtue. BlackLava has shown he has it...shouldn't we?

Here, here Jedi. Like you I don't like to intefere or get into slanging matches. While the previous site was more user friendly to us old fella's, the intent was to play free poker. This is still achievable on the new site, and let's face it, that's what it is all about. I'm sure that with a bit more time, Lava will make it a lot easier to use. He just needs some time.

Jedi, that was really great. The new script needs a little adjustments but I don't mind it. I have been thinking exactually what you said but just couldn't put it into words as well as you did. I hope people calm down a little and just give Lava some peace so he can add the little features and such to make people a little happier. Thanks for your words.
