| nearly 3 years on op66 and the only tourney that realy gives me a buzz is the mammoth. when i joined op66 i had never played holdem poker before, soon got addicted (anyone remember that warning).started playing the rings and moved on to the minis and loved the tourneys 100 plus players to me it was the closes you could get to playing the real game live. still love playing our op66 tourneys but its the mammoth that gives me my real buzz nowdays, with a 500k buy in and a set time each week i know its out of reach for alot of our players,an average turnout of between 15 and 25 players play each week and its always a great game win or lose, you get to play against some of the best players here on op66. so i say long live the mammoth ![]()

| I havent played the Mammoth since the credit convertor came in (now gone) it lost most of its glamour and its status in my eyes when anyone who wanted to be a RPG character and could click a mouse could afford to enter it. You had to work hard and play good poker to be even able to afford to enter the mammoth and that all changed overnight with outlaws RPG and the credit convertor. Call me a poker snob but its now just an expensive way to play at the same standard as used to be usual in all OP66 tournies. As someone who doesnt play Ring tables or ever used the credit convertor it is near impossible for a tournie player like me to enter the mammoth as we would now need to win on average 16 tournies a week in order to play the mammoth. Prior to site changeovers it was possible to earn the money by playing in the sit and goes where there was decent poker played for decent prize monies and part of the build up and motivation to play good poker was will I be able to afford the mammoth this week. It is still the hardest tournie to win on the site and the hardest fought over medal, and still contains at least some of the spirit of the old OP66so well done to all the winners and runners up past and present.

| You took the words out of my mouth Cuddy. I think i have golds in all the other tourneys, I also hate the ring tables with a vengeance so I never have a big enough chip stack to safely afford an entry into the mammoth. But I can play away in the 2000 tourneys without worrying about running out of chips. If I get a bit low I play the mini-mammoth hoping for a top three place to boost my stack. Players who were members in the early days could build up massive chip stacks, this is not as easy now, but I love what I can afford to play so why worry.

| Fred, Players in the early days could make a decent chip stack through playing decent poker it was the credit convertor that allowed massive chip stacks to be built with little or no poker skills.

| That's true Chuck, but still if you lose in the Mammoth you are back to the ring tables and I would rather have my orchestra's crushed in a vice than play them. it's only a matter of choice I suppose.

| I have to agree with Tel. The Mammoth is the only non money game that really gives me any pleasure nowdays. The standard is generally very good, it usually takes about half an hour before the first player gets eliminated. I hardly ever play the other 4 tourneys these days I find some of the calls that players make "random" to say the least. Like Tel I really cut my teeth playing poker on OP66 over the past 2 and a half years and have enjoyed the banter and the chat. I still will continue to make the odd appearance but the Mammoth is the only one I now look forward to, and for me it has always has been my favouite. |

| I agree with cuddy and fred. I have only played the mammoth i think 3 times was a great game each time but to build those sort of chips now is very hard. And the time makes it difficult for me to play. As fpr the rings only play there because u sit of ever in sit and goes time difference makes it hard for u aussies.
