Had my HTC Desire for a couple of months now and I am absolutely loving it.
I used to just have something that could call and text message, thinking it would be a waste for me to have a mobby that does any more than that but boy this thing is the dogs do-dars.
Im using my phone for things I just never thought I ever both with. Email, twitter, games, navigation, flash light, poker, web browsing, work and probably other things ive forgot.
Its got the Android Froyo operating system and there aint much it cant do that my laptop can. I would root it but thats a little beyond me right now and a little scary.
Got an application called "Tasker" a few weeks ago and its turned it from a smartphone into a geniusphone. Ok, the app is soooo complicated it takes a while to set it up automated tasks you want it to do and has the odd glitch but the pro's are to good not to use it. I even paid for this app, which proves to me it must be good, I hate paying for any software these days.
Its like something out of a (not so old) sci-fi movie.
I was gonna get an iphone but so glad I didnt.

Blackberry which is red so I call it my strawberry!
Used to use normal Nokia, just to txt and call, but was then 'talked' into getting a Blackberry. Had it 2 1/2 years now.
It's really cool. I get all my emails pushed straight to my phone and can reply without having any extra costs. I also use MSN on my phone which is great when you are away from a computer.
And I can type quicker using the qwerty keyboard than the lappy!
I was given an HTC Diamond Touch but didn't like the windows operating system on the phone, so I gave it to one of my daughters. Now they all have HTC's.
Would NEVER change back to a 'normal' phone...my Blackberry is for life (just like my husband lol)

I have a nornal Nokia...just calls and texts...but its my work phone, bought and paid for by my boss. I'm not complaining, haven't paid a mobile bill in years

WOW, and its still working perfectly? superb. None of the other phones (mainly nokia's) I've had lasted more than 12 months before getting all glitchy.
How long do think it will last?
I'm on a 18 month contract with this one and was thinking that if it starts playing up, after then, I could just flash it with a new OS. Bing.... new phone again really. I could then drop down to really low tarrif or swap networks.
If it lasts like your Blackberry, I could keep it for donkeyz

Hmmm not good. That was one of the reasons I didnt go for a iphone. That and the fact everything has to come from/via apple.

LFC, I just got the Samsung Epic 4G and it is as good as advertised except that it is a battery hog. I purchased a 2nd battery and AC charger besides the car charger for it.

Other than that, the droid operating system is so superior to what I had before and that was microsoft mobile.

The problem now is that it is more than just a phone. All the apps and a lot of good free one's that can take up so much time.

I am just waiting for flash to getting operating on droid so I can play OP from my phone.

Arrr yes, they are battery hogs. I get about 24 hours out of mine on a light use day. I just have to keep an eye on it because I shouldnt run this battery down to low, it damages the cells in it.
40% left and I usually plug it in.
If that battery in yours is similar to mine, then they dont like being stored unused. Have a read up on it, you might need to keep swapping them over.

As for the flash thing, as far as I can see, the only thing stopping me from playing poker on here is the message box that sits over the log-in box, stopping me from entering my details.

I have got a nokia 5800 touch screen,i can use msn on it but i never do and in december i can change my fone just have to decide what to have,i have been lookin but havent found any i like at the mo

im using a blackberry storm 2 at the momnent and just love it
it was a bugger to set up the way i wanted it (predictive text was a nightmare) but now it works just great
the satnav on it has helped me out a couple of times when i was stuck
i do most of my facebook on it and have taken some great pictures with it then just sent them off to whoever i wanted either by mms or email

some of the apps are great espicaly poynt which lists buissness in your area by request (eg plumbers) and brings them up by the nearest to you with map and directions if needed

most messaging services are available on it too like msn blackberry messenger aol messenger

media playback is great espesialy video it looks sharp with no jitter

battery life is a bit pants if you use it during the day you must charge it at night

if you have the bluetooth turned on you will be lucky to get 24 hours out of it
