Default Payout structure for big tourneys

Been playing the big tourneys lately, kinda a stat geek question:

Exactly when are you in the money, 15th? I got some return for 13th (just short of the $50k I entered with) out of 48 players starting, and nothing for high teens with like some 80ish players the other day, so I'm guessing that, like the points for top 15, the payout is also top 15 regardless of # entered. Anyone confirm? I got a cool mil placing silver in a $50k tourney, forgot how many entered.

And if a moderator in the know can be more specific, I'm enough of a nerd to be curious about exact formulae for payouts. My bet is it does factor in number entered, and has some descending scale from 1st to 15th (if that is the cutoff).

It might actually inform me how to play when I get to the final 20, so good info to have...

Thanks,
OneIdMark

Yes,it's top 15 for points/payout.The buy-in amount affects the payout,as it should,but i don't know about the number of people.I believe so,but i'm no math geek.And you're a nerd,(lol...) so have fun figuring it out.
Hehehe...
All ya gotta do is look in flash lobby at top of page.Click on "tourns" then just pick a tourn and hit "details".Middle of window you'll see what the payout was,and how many ppl entered.Have fun.

Hey that's great info...it also answers my question I might have posted about "do you have archives of tourney results?". Looks like payout percent is something like (from 1 to 15): 26, 18, 13, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.7, 1.2, .9, .7, .5.

Tourney about to start, but the prize pool listed there is not # entries X entry fee, but instead over 200% of that, very generous just like the tourney tables. Exact math after the tourney...

OK, the percentages for top 15 are consistent as listed in my earlier thread.

The actual prize pool is not consistently the same percentage of number entries X entry fee, but is always over 200%...some I've noticed are 228%, 388%, 240%, 225%...after some figuring, it looks like there is a starting pool of 3,000,000 for 50,000 tourneys, adding the entry fees for each player registered, while the starting pool for 5,000 tourneys is 600,000, and for 1,000 tourneys it's 300,000.

For example, the 388% payoff tourney (River Sorrow, $5000 entry) above was since there were only 42 entries (where other tourneys have 80+, the percentage is lower). The pool was 810,000 total, adding 42 x 5,000 + 600,000.

Play minis and ring tables for chips. Big multi table tourneys are for medals and points!!!

I only play multi's for points & medals, as long as I have enough chips to enter them I'm not to concerned about my total chip count.

Having said that there is always avery good payout on the Weekly Mammoth, usually about 10 million Plus for the winner , but I agree very much with Danzi's comments
