How come no one plays the sit and go's anymore?

I remember back in the day when they were "mini tourneys" and always full! The baby mammoth, the mammoth! It was a good way of building your chip count!

this makes no sense every 1 complains about the sngs not filling but nobody plays. If so many people want to play sngs and miss them registar its not rocket science put up a thread in fill sng section. seems like everybody says i want to play a sng but then say ill not registar cause no one plays makes no sense whatsoever. Get off ur buts and fill one ive heard this rant about the sngs not filling since i joined site. If so many want to play em it should be no problem. seems like every 1 complains about it but never trys to fill one why dont all the complainers go start one rite now.Theirs nothing wrong with the site just you all give up too easy Ive put up threads to fill sngs and they almost always fill up at this time of day. The good ole days are gone only because the players on the site accecpt it and dont even attempt to fill sngs.

trouble is u can sit there for ever and no one comes. I remember when i first start and u had to have your finger on the register button other wise u missed out. and that was for every sit and go. We are having so much trouble filling tournie these days shame they can be so much fun. Not even chat yet shame seems like we are forgotten.

I dont think Josh was complaining as such, he's been away for a long time. When he was about, like Kay pointed out everyone fort for the sit n gos. I think its a case of people would go sit at the sit n go tables for ages and they wouldnt fill, so people have now just given up trying and just either stick with the rings, tournies and I think a lot of people just play money side now. I remember a time when some people where here almost all day and night!

The Sit and Go format is not the same as when Josh was last here. The reason they were so popular was because the prizes were a lot better than they are now and it was a good way to build up your chip balance playing poker not bingo.

There used to be a gradual progression of players from the beginners tables up through the ranks until you played the bazultra table and all the time you were learning by moving through the ranks and gning experience

You cared about your chips as there was a daily rebuy limit and would play your heart out for them now with all the bingo and unlimited rebuys and in the past the credit convertor that "apprenticeship" stage has gone.

What is the point of playing a serious sit and go for over an hour to win 5000 chips when you can go play bingo on the ring tables for 5 minutes and win more seems to be the general theory the fact that you dont learn or improve doesnt seem to matter anymore.

The mini mammoth is the closest we have got to what the old sit and goes were like and even that prize money is small compared to what it used to be.

People used to come here day and night not just for a good game of poker but for a chat, to discuss games and just generally catch up with one another now with the chat room gone and no sign of one returning people are using other means to chat which means new players may feel isolated I know the only reason I stayed on the site was the banter in the chat room where I was made to feel very welcome you can only say Welcome on the forum not get to know someone.

A lot are playing real money and not necessarily here as the atmosphere has changed for the worse and not being able to communicate with all players on a table is one of the reasons for that.

Sorry for the long winded response all of these points have been raised several times in the past by several people but I cant see it changing any time soon at least not for the better.

The life and soul is draining out of the site and it cant blame the players as we have tried everything we can think of, but we cant do it by ourselves.
