Default Stl tournament rules

There are only three rules really to play in the stl tournament
1) you have to be a stl member
2) you have to show respect to other players on the tables (no abuse)
3) you dont play bingo poker in the tournament

ok the first two rules are self explanitory but the no bingo rule might need a bit of explaining
all of our regular tournament players come and play the stl not for the medals (we dont have any) not for the huge amount of chips you can win (we have a low buy in so everyone can afford to play) but for the fun of the game and the good cameradery and sportsmanship shown in these games by all
they know that if they turn up to a stl tournament they will get a good tough game of poker with friends who will encourage them but also give them a little bit of stick at the same time

the last thing any of our members want is some of the all in and donkey play they get on the ring tables and regular tournaments

you may say that this isnt against the rules of poker and you would be right but this is a private tournament for the stl group and as such you have to adhere by the group rules

as controller of the stl group i have made the rules which seem popular and until we get any other suggestions we will stick to these

i have had a couple of complaints about bingo play lately on the stl tournament i hope this clears up the rules for you

stl my friends

eyup bud

if u wanted to get rid of the bingo why kindly ask the mods if it were possible for the tourney to be pot limit, rather than no limit?

it's not like ppl want to see huge raises at a fun tourney like this, and tht's ultimately all it is- a FUN tourney, almost like a 'winding down' tourney.

One rule u missed out bud; To enjoy the game and have fun

Hope everyone enjoys themselves on the table, anyone caught "bingoing" will be...well, considered to have a social status of a GIT

STL

i'm in full support of Mr Buhhda's rules for a PRIVATE GROUP, yes there's nothing in the rules as to say how you are allowed to play or not

but, seems simple to me, agree to abide by the group rules, or just dont join the group

good comment m8 but i think the magority of our members love their no limit holdem its the game they play most often

also with the high standered of players we get on the stl tournaments the games could last all night
at the moment two hours is not uncommen for a twenty player tourney

raise the blinds the games to slow and people get bored, or lower the starting chips.

Agree Budd...and maybe this thread may help with the problem...I hope so. Bingo players have ruined the ring tables, we need a decent place to play a real game of hold'em. I myself like the set up as it is now...And appreciate the low buy in....Cause I'm broke....

The game and set-up is brill as it is.....DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING PLEASE!!!!!!

IF SOME PEOPLE DON'T LIKE IT, THEN DON'T PLAY....SIMPLE.

This is a great chance for a great group of friends to have a game of poker without all the numpteys and moaners we get on ALL other tourneys and ring tables.

LONG LIVE THE STL AS IT STANDS......WE LUVS YA BUD AND DUCKIE FOR BRINGING IT TO US.

just a reminder to all stl tournament players that this is a non bingo tournament
i have had a few complaints from players mentioning very large bets early in the game and loads of all ins
you have the whole internet for this kind of play but the stl tournament is more of a friendly get together than a serious poker tournament
i know there is nothing against it in the poker rules but there are rules against it in the stl tournament (read post 1 of this thread)
please i dont want to contact members individualy and cause bad feeling lets just go enjoy our game

stl my friends
