i find myself wanting to call every possible flush i see. ive been getting more selective lately, when the blinds are up mostly. what i want to know is when do some of ya guys draw the line on looking for the flush?

I always weigh the odds. If you have four cards to a flush after the flop, the odds are about 35% to hit the fifth card. Is the pot worth it? So you should be getting at least 3 to 1 for your money. Do you have the suited Ace in your hand? Also, when you say you are going for the flush, I hope you mean that you have two suited cars in your hand. Otherwise, others will be going for the same flush.

If I have an ace or a king of the suit I will chase it to the river. If I have a not so high card then I will see if the pot is worth paying more for.

this is completly wrong.
for starters there are four suites and a flush requires only one of those suites, making it around a one in four chance.
