POKER IS AN INDIVIDUAL SPORT... ( ONE of the many reasons i LOVE the game ) : each PERSON is responsible for their OWN fortune and actions,, and it is EACH person against the rest of the TABLE.
TEAM POKER , to me, just makes noooo sense at all,, and leads to pitfalls much like the one described here |
I have to agree you mate - i played a couple of times in a pub tournie where i had agreed to share any winnings with another player (not something i believe in as i dont think it is ethically sound) i found it very difficult to know what to do. One situation saw me first to act with KK and i made a 4 times blind raise, my partner was last to act and having seen three callers went straight over the top of me - i put him on AA and folded he had two callers and he lost the hand with JJ. Short of giving signals to each other (totally wrong)i dont know what i could have done. I said after to him that after my initial classic raise he should have dumped his jacks as it cost us both a lot of chips.
I now stick to individual play only - incidently we only did it as i found out others were doing it - we are both much more succesful going against the team play as individuals
