Default the UL comments at games

i've watched and made no comment during games as people go out while some people post ( ul ) in the chat box, while it has happened to me before i had never looked at it as a total lack of sportsmanship. some may do it to a friend as a joke, it is becoming more common, in some cases i believe its said to harass. people know when they lose---no need to rub it in is there???

I take it as unlucky, which in most cases is very true. I take no offense.

There is a thread on this topic somewhere (some assistance pls. threadmasters) Anyways from my understanding most people intend to use it as unlucky. eg pocket aces losing to 72 on the river etc.

Personally I would not take any offence to it because in most cases it is not intended. Ppl on this site are really nice for the majority.

Cheers.

Just recently saw this somewhere...you're assuming they're saying "U lose"~correct?Because most everyone here is not. We're a good bunch here...and besides, you don't have to listen to some person online you've never met.Just play your game, have some fun,and we'll see ya on the tables.
Big cheers m8!

If they say UL haha... then, yeah.. probably not bein too friendly. But i think most people are just saying unlucky. I always say ul, gg, or vul (very unlucky) And unless someone had been harrassing me beforehand... actually scratch that... I wouldn't say "u lose" to someone, that's just rude, and not in my nature. Unless they're overly obnoxious, I'd just assume it was unlucky.

Yeah, it is a thread I started some time back because of my misreading / ambiguity towards "ul":

"u loose" or "unlucky"?

ive posted about this before. now, im not much of a talker here at the moment, however, this is a game of poker, not a vicars tea party or a meeting of the local womens institute. have you ever watched high stakes poker on tv? the wind ups, comments, psychological element is PART OF THE GAME. poker isnt a game of cards played by people, its a game of people played with cards. it is totally legal within the rules of the game to wind someone up in the hope they will go on tilt. i do not understand why a few wind ups upset people. fair enough if we are talking sustained and systematic abuse or something then thats different, but otherwise just get a life

Some people are genuinely being nice by saying 'ul' or just having a bit of banter. If you take offense to it then you're a bit deep.

Never thought to take offense to two tiny little letters at the bottom of my screen. There's probably been millions of msg's left there for me, I never look to know.
Seriously if there's anyone that has been offended please reply I'd love to know what was said and if it was indeed the infamous "UL" comment!
Cheers
