What would you do if this happened to you..........

I am curious, what would you do if you were in a poker tree tourney and your opponent after you win the 1st game decided not to play any more and disappeared on you? And then decided to wrongly claim they won...knowing they lied? I am only asking for opinions here. Please if you know of an instance.....NO NAMES.

The reason I am asking is because there is a player who entered the tree tourney and when it came time to play his opponent kept disappearing. It took his opponent 2 hours to finally get the first game. The winner of the game went to find another table. Only to find that the person he beat was on another sit n go playing someone heads up. Then, when he tried to get ahold of the person yet again he was on a 6 seater sit and go. When he finally got to talk to the person the individual said they didn't care and didn't want to play. Yet, that player claimed the win? How? If he lost the first game and wouldn't play the other two, How does he claim the win. The true winner is just as furious about it as I am. Yet, being the man he is (nice, sweet person) he will not speak up. He figures the jerk will get caught in a lie sooner than later. He doesn't like to make waves.

So, what would you do if this happened to you?

isnt there a rule where, when one player duznt turn up then the other one wins by default?? i'm sure this is correct...check with newt, its his tourney tree and i'm sure he wont mind pming the players concerned and getting it sorted...the games have to be played within a specified time, if he's not willing to abide by this then he should be taken out of the competition..simple

wouldent normaly say this but as its a tree torny set up by op players for op players i say name and shame then thay wont be able to do this again

Op rules say no naming and shaming roo but I sure wish I could. Wasn't me it happened to but a friend to all of us.

I have already pm'd newt and the person who is set to play the jerk next.

I think that you shud pm nonethere and tell him what has happened and get him to sort it out.
This is wrong when the person cudnt be bothered to play the game in the first place,why say you would xxx

happened to me once in a particular tourny awhile back and i just let it go and remembered the person. didnt want a big ruccus over fake chips. if someone's that kind of person to lie over a win .. well thats a shame actually but for me personally noone knows who won that particular tourny except for me and the person who claimed to win. feel bad for the victim in this one. not sayin he shouldnt say anythin , just sayin what i did in similar deal long time ago.

i presume this is the poker tree 2 tourney.

i'd suggest first that the organisor is informed by PM, then he can get the information from both side's, and make a decision, and i'm sure anyone of the moderators will help if asked by him

btw, there was problems before when we had the "tournaments" section on the forum, and unfortunatly some took advantage of the system, but atleast then the moderators could reverse the advancement

i think this is pathetic really to cheat in a free tourney is pathetic name and shame i say if they want to cheat take them out the tourney.

i think i can call most of the players in this tourney friends so to do something like that to friends is just bad!!

just my view plus every1 else in the tourney should be made aware of who by pm...

I agree with you that everyone in the tourney should be pm'd. I certainly would.

For someone that is supposed to be part of our family here, it's pretty darn pathetic to lie. I think everyone should know who it is for future references as well. Name and shame is against TOS, but pm's aren't.
