this is a very valid point reg,but....tourney averages has 1 slight floor in it....

now a days there are 80-over ahundred entrants....where as in the early days there were far far fewer entrants in the big tourneys making it easier to win points.....

so you have to balance out all options and i choose by players i play on a regular basis

The best poker player currently is SHEA. for reasons obvious if you understand statistics.

its also been mentioned several times that the highest chipcount is not a true indication of a players ability because of the varying amount of time spent/games played compared to others.

My highest ranking of 4th on chip toplist at that point would have seen me about 60 others below players better than myself such as Shea.

So, if you want to have a look at the BEST players on here (and not their social standing), I suggest you look at the tournament average toplist.

I totally agree with this. Also some of the players on the top list might just have more free time on their hands to win more money than other which doesn't make them a better player at all. Just more time to play more games and win more money!

u say bout more time to play and win does tht not class then as gr8 if the play more and win more than us? its about the percent of wins tht counts not how much ya play

Not quite what I was trying to get at. I was just trying to say if we were going on "true statistics" everyone would have to play the same amount to get the correct answer to who was the best. I guess I mean sure X is a great player and is on the top list but he can play 10 times more than y who is lower on the top list or whatever but it y could play just as much as x then the statistics might be diffrent. But I am only talking statistics here.

i wasnt havin a go i just ment its easier to deter whos beter with win percentage IMO thts all

The best on this site- thtas a hard one- every time i play on the big tables with the big dogs i do alright- i jump down to the 33 or 44 table- i lose hard- so im giving it to the newcomers
