Default Why do I always lose with pocket aces?

Every time I have pocket aces, I always seem to lose. Can't get away from them and I wondered if anybody else has nemisis hands!

My nemesis hand was KK yesterday, 2 times called all-in preflop by A7 and A5 (or low stuff like that even if suited) and rivered by an ace
Usually I haven't got any nemesis hand outside I never know how to play JJ lol

A few reason why AA gives me the same feeling than you :

- AA make you go all in much more often than any other hand, that means you allways have a chance to lose and on the other hand losing with AA preflop is allways a bad beat.

- AA makes players go blinds so often : Before the flop it's a huge hand, after it it's "only" a pair.

- Players used to slow play AA to maximize the gain, you could but facing 3 players make your AA far away from beeing such a huge hand! Try using the Poker hand calculator on the bottom of onlinepoker66, chose any hands for other players and see : With 4 players in the hand your AA will often have only 50% chance of victory (still a lot ok, but means too half chance to lose).

- Common to remember the huge bad beats : if you win 3 times with AA and lose one time a huge hand you'll remember the bad beat at first. That's another reason players used to say "I allways lose with AA"

Afterward if you're good enough to avoid all those traps, you're perhaps just unlucky nowadays

Mate as Lava says you remember when you lose all in. If u counted how many times you lose with other hands you would see the bigger picture. As you move up in the tables less will go all in. avoid ring tables with aa cause everyone calls everything there lol.

Bet big at the begining but not to big, so you don't lose all your chips when the flop comes out. If the flop is in your favor take it to the bank. That's what I would do.

i don't think it matters if you have pockets or not, it's all dependant on the flop. Having high pockets isn't always good. I never go all in on pocket aces until i have seen the flop maybe.

Meaning you would fold AA if someone goes all in preflop before you?

AA is perhaps not magic but I will never fold it preflop, if I'm out of a tournament due to AA played all-in preflop I'll be happy with that

My nemesis hand is JJ.

It feels like every time I play it I lose, but then every time I fold it, it would have won.

I used to think JJ was a good hand, but have become to realise that in certain circumstances it is actually quite weak. If you are under the gun on a full table of 10 in a tourney with JJ I am never sure if I should be slow playing to try and hit a set on the flop or risking an all in. I think in a money game I would be inclined to ALL-IN but playing online you get players that call an ALL-IN if they have anything higher than a 9 in their hand. You only need 2 or 3 callers which often happens and bang the guy with KQ hits a pair and your ooot!

Not sure what the best answer is but unless I generally am very cautious with pocket Jacks.

I am not a poker wizard but have learned that pocket pairs of any kind resticts you to getting certain cards as dealt, as with kq or suited cards give more chance to a winning hand. My opinion but if I have aa pocket i will look before the I all in lol or will i depends on chip count and # of callers

I don't like pocket pairs I have no luck with them so I slow play till I hit the third and hope somebody calls big
then tack my chance and rase big seems to work 50% of the time.

Good luck with them and have fun !

I Would Prefer A Jj Any Time Over Aa, And You Can Tell When A Player Has Aa.. After The Flop And 1 Showsey Usally Go All In. Verses Jj And 1 More On The Flop, A Player (me) Will Usally Check And Let Some One Else Raiseus Increasing The Pot..
