Smile Why people lose when they don't have to...

I have been playing poker for a few years(Rookie/Novice)and cannot help but comment on the fools who just continue calling bets when they have nothing, or raise when they should have folded. What does this tell us? There are a lot of players that either don't understand the hand rankings, or the poker world is full of gambling addicts who cannot resist playing all the way to the river.

Players like this are wasting our time and making us fold good hands when we should not....

Can I get an Amen

Spot on mate, but poor play is just one of the wonderful aspects of poker (I hope you noted the sarcasm dripping off of that statement.) But yeah nice short sweet summary there mate.

Hope to catch you on the tables soon

Adam - you will find the kind of game you are looking for if you play the op66 tourneys.
They are under the "fun tournaments" tab under the "tournaments" tab listed as OP66 Hetmans, OP66 New York times. OP66 British Crown, and OP66 Wombats.

surely if they get you to fold a hand you should not have folded, you've just been outplayed, correct me if i'm wrong. That's the game is it not?

Can I get an Amen from the choir? AMEN!

Well posted, Tidds!

Adam, welcome to the site --- you have found a great family here. I hope you enjoy your time... in the forum, in the chat area, and on the tables, where it is what this site is all about --- poker!

Yes, I have my posts and my history here ranting about "bingo" play, and I will rant some more... but at the end of the day, it all comes down to each of us being forced to play our own game... we don't have to give away our chips... we do have to make a decision... call / raise / fold.

Well put, Tidds, and thanks for the thread Adam!

Adam, nice point you have raised in your thread, but I assure you theres some stubborn players out there and me being one of em, would'nt pack a good hand if you held a revolver to my head. Good players dont fold good hands buddy, cus if they did I for 1 would win more golds..steve.

I surely wouldn't give the newbies all the credit for foolish play. Even some of the old timers only know how to do their all in thing just to pick up credits. Hmmmmm! Have many times have I been kicked out with a good hand with their chasing antics only to hit on the river a straight. Or could they possibly have a great hand every hand hmmmmm. Good luck with figuring this one out. I still haven't.Know bluffing is part of the game but really now.

I have to agree with tidds on that one too, reading whether someones bluffin or just being foolish is part of the game, besides, you can always feel them out for a few hands to get a read, sometimes....

i agree with tidds, 2 much moaning bout players chasing hands, try re raising if u have a good hand or do these people who fold so called good hands nt hav much of a hand after all. if theres a small pot and small bets going in2 the pot and i am 1 card away from a flush or a str8 i wud be willing 2 gamble small call 2 c if i hit. as b4 good hand then bet big put money wer mouth is and bet players off pot

I fully agree can't stand playing against fools who doesn't understand the game. But it helps for me thinking that they gonna loose all their money very soon again.
