Default WSOP final table.

who do u think will win the wsop main event?

i want michael mizrachi 2 win but i think jonathan duhamel will take it down coz hes very aggressive and will be dangerous with the massive stack hes got.

I think cheong will take it... Has been playing real well, and done some very sensible folds throughout the tourny.

yeah i think he has got a good chance of winning it, good solid poker player from what ive seen but he seems to make moves at the wrong time that gets him into trouble.

Hand #213: Joseph Cheong Blows Up in Largest Pot in WSOP History

John Racener has the button.

Joseph Cheong raises to 2.9 million from the small blind after Racener folds his button. Jonathan Duhamel reraises from the big blind to 6.75 million. Cheong doesn't buy it and four-bets to 14.25 million. Duhamel comes back with a five-bet to 22.75 million.

Cheong goes back and checks his hand while thinking about his decision. The room is completely silent while Cheong tanks. The crowd grows a bit restless after a minute or so, but settles back down before Cheong takes some more time. Cheong moves all in and Duhamel makes the call!

Duhamel: Qc Qd

Cheong: As 7h

Cheong moved all in for a massive 95.05 million! Duhamel has less chips. This pot also has a lot riding on it for John Racener, the bystander in the confrontation. Time for the flop…

The flop is spread: 9h 3d 2c

and Cheong still needs to hit while Duhamel stays in front.

The turn brings: 6s

and everyone in this room in on the edge of their seat awaiting the river card.

The river completes the board with the 8s

and that's it! The sea of red Montreal Canadians jerseys swarms Duhamel on the stage and begins the chant of, "Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole! Ole!" Cheong sits back in his chair to assist with the final and official count of the stacks. His cheering section stands stunned, many shaking their heads. Cheong was left with under 10 million in chips.

He went out a few hands later, after doubling up, with a Q10 all-in against A2... Duhamel won again and will be fighting Ravener heads up, with a massive stack advantage 188,950,000 vs 30,750,000 -> 6 to 1

Still excellent tournament, and above 4 million bucks to take home for Cheong...

So it's Duhamel.

Very convincing win, overall.

only just finished watching it, what a sick final table lol.

yeah stern m8 just like that lol

if he didnt make these crazy moves he would of took down the tourney, 1 off the best players at the table i thought.

i know an ace 3 handed is pretty strong but common not that strong!
as soon a duhamel 5 bet it was pretty obvious he was interested in the hand and wasnt goin anywere.

You are so right, m8....

5 bet was really saying "keep raising bud, I am served". Even if one thinks he might be a playing headgame, one of the fundamental rules of final game is not to jeopardize your whole stack with the other big stack(s) unless you are very strongly confident in your hand or hold the nuts postflop (or, ok, perhaps, convinced that your move is so strong it will fold your opponent) .

And with A7 offsuit against a 5 way bet, it's very far from any of these scenarios imho, even likely to be much less advantageous than a coin flip situation (I would find a coin flip quite foolish at this stage)

I mean it is a decent hand and ok to attack at this stage, but it is a serious underdog to so many holdings, that reraising all-in was crazy.

Ok, he was representing huge, but he got a clear signal that duhamel had something he wasn't ready to let go.

This said, QQ is probably the weakest hand I can imagine calling the all-in with. Duhamel was out directly, if he lost. So resepct for the big balls depsite all....

Oh well, he did play an excellent game overall indeed and didn't go back home emptypocketed, but as you said he could very well have added his name to the hall and fame and doubled his prize money with a bit more care.

I find it funny to imagine how Racener felt while he watched the hand got resolved, lol: the dream for him.... he so much wasn't getting on the way to the heads-up.

You got a link to final table broadcast footage, m8? I watched parts live on p2p streams, but wouldn't mind sitting an rerunning parts and watching some I have missed...
