Your 2010 poker goals

Well, i have one major goal this year. Be the first person to win 100 toury metals. Have 12 to go! Oh,play in one of the outlaw tourys. Lets not forget , to treat all the ladies and gents with respect at the tables.

4. win the BC tourney
5. win the mammoth tourney
6. 4 and 5 above gets me the grand slam
7. make new friendships
8. grow stronger friendships with the ones i have now

I just want to enjoy the fun with you all, if I win all well and good but it's not the be all and end all, so long as I'm still alive and kicking for the Amsterdam sortie I'll be happy.

thats it fred i never get abusive to any one bec ause they beat me sometimes im quiet sometimes u cant shut me up winning is not everything participating and enjoying is the game ,,well goals live another year and enjoy the company of my family and friends i have no goals on here just play win or loose ...

There are lots of good players on here, many that I enjoy challenging myself against. But I figure you are your own toughest opponent, so as an additional challenge I decided to set myself some goals to try and see if I can achieve them by the end of the year. I've set them at a level I believe will be quite hard but not impossible for me to do. There's no point setting them too low. In no particular order they are:

1. Finish the year with a tourney average of 3.5 or better. I think the highest I managed last year was about 2.9 or 3 and I finished on 2.88, so a fair bit of work to do there. I must admit I like the tourney average idea as it is a good measure of your consistency. Some players have brilliant averages (very well done all of you), which I think I'm a long way from achieving just now, so an increase of 0.62 is a target I think I will find testing.

I managed to reach an average of 5.1 briefly and ended the year with an average of 4.14, so I'm happy with my result on this one

2. Achieve the Grand Slam. If I don't do that within the next 12 months I will be very very disappointed with myself. Not that it's easy by any means, and very well done to the existing Grand Slammers, but purely because I only need to get 2 more wins so it's not like I'm starting from scratch. I need gold in BC and Mammoth to do it. Disappointed myself on this one, still haven't managed to get the Grand Slam because I haven't won the British Crown. I could try and excuse myself by saying it's played at a bad time slot for me, but that would just be a cop out because all of the Grand Slam winners would have had the same problem with at least one of the tourneys. So that's a goal I failed to achieve.

3. Increase my medal count by 100%. It's taken me 18 months to get the ones I have, so considering I was learning to play from scratch when I joined (still learning now too), I figured trying to do the same again in 12 months should be a realistic target but one that's also not too easy to achieve. Better new on this one. I managed to more than double my previous medal tally. Still nowhere near as many as some people but I exceeded my goal so I'm happy with that.

4. Go from zero $ to a balance of $500 without making a deposit. As I type this my balance is $0.09, so it's close enough to zero to make virtually no difference. I know that for me this will probably be the hardest goal to achieve. Mmmmmm let me see.........failed bigtime LOL. Ended the year with $16 LOL, but had a lot of fun along the way.

I've played on this site less than I did in 2009 and having played a lot more on a couple of other big sites has been interesting. That has also made me notice a couple of things.

Firstly this site is far friendlier, which I already knew, but that's not to say the others are completely unfriendly.

The reliability of the other sites is far superior in terms of not crashing, bugs, freezing etc but then I guess they have a much bigger budget.

And despite what anyone might think about 'odd' flops, poor starting hands beating far superior starting hands by hitting, or certain games where flushes or straights or full houses seem to occur far to frequently........it's not unique to OP. I've seen the same on the other sites, and it's also been accompanied with comments such as "typical for this site". It happens, it's poker.......and it often makes me chuckle lol.

in 2010 i never set any goals in stone,but i had a couple of highlights which have pleased me firstly the double and treble grandslamsdone many months ago,as stevo says there is one difficult one to play and for me it is the new york but i had already got a small wad of golds from this when off wotk long term with injury,of course the one that held me up was the mammoth less players but hard to win because the quality field that register.the second event in 2010 was acceiving the 50 gold medals which i,m so sorry does not show in my stats due to the problem updates we have all been experiencing i,m currently on 54/55 golds but i.ll need to do a recount again,i suppose the next goal of course will be 100 golds but untill the problems are fixed this goal is on hold and i,m really just playing,anyway a Happy New Year to you all and may this year bring everything you have wished for,for me it,s world peace lol

The Only Goal I set last year was to get a slam! hetmans gave me fits! but the goal was finally achieved.So I guess Im happy with that.I will now try for the double,(hehe)
