Welcome to the Outlaws City Tutorial!      Click here to go back to the city map

Want to skip the reading and start to play right away? Then just read the 4 following lines in order to start playing!
The game is really easy : You have to challenge other players ( real or game characters ) to win experience points and make your character stronger. You will then have more objects, clothes and points to boost your player.
Go to "home" on the bottom of the city map to see your character statistics and train a bit before you first challenges in the poker street ( lowest level opponents )... You can try now and come back to read the tutorial later
( You can come back here at anytime by clicking the 'help' link on the left of the city map )

Let's have a deeper look at the game...
At level 1 you will be able to challenge only Game characters, you will find those in the areas on the outlaws city map but you are limited to only 3 areas (Poker Street, Bob's Garage and Underground Poker Area) until you earn the Silver pass ( you need to beat the Silver Bluffmaster for that, he is in the Underground poker area but do not try now he is far too strong for newbies! ).
When you first start here you will recieve 2000 Forums Credits you can use to train your character ( if you have much more FC from your posts on forum it's even better ) : Go to your Home by clicking on the bottom of the city map or on the direct link on the left of the city page, you will be directed to your home page.
There you can chose where you want your first skills points to go. In order to select the right place to spend your points you have to understand what it means: See below a description of each skill and points you'll find...

BLF : This is your bluff skill : usefull for lowering opponent's poker chipz stack, you should boost BLF at first!
INT : This is your intelligence skill : mostly to avoid your opponent's bluffs
REA : This is your reading skill : will crush down your opponent's mental
PKF : This is your PokerFace skill : no one will be able to read you!
BKM : This is your bankroll management skill : handy to recover lost poker chipz or to have more spaces for objects
These 5 skills are the ones you can train at each level using your Forum Credits but if you already have millions of forum credits that does not mean you will be stronger than any newcomer to the site : Each level got a high limit of credits you can spend but we will come back to this later.

PM : This is your poker mental : always back to 100% after each challenge
PC : This is your Poker Chipz amount : you will recover some each hour or through boosts in the poker shop
EXP : These are your Experience points, you will need to score a lot of them to gain each new level!
PL : This is you your poker level,When you have earned enough experience points to gain a new level, your poker level will raise by 1. You will earn experience by challenging opponents on the same or higher level than yourself. The higher your opponents level, the more experience you can earn per challenge. Each new level you will gain points you are able to spend on Skills, Items and Houses to make your character stronger.
FC : Forums Credits are points you can earn on the OnlinePoker66 Forums, you can convert those into bullets then sell them for real money to play poker or spend them here in Outlaws City. To earn FC you can post on forum or work as dealer at the poker club (more info below)
GP : These are your Glory Points, you will score one GP each time you gain a level, you can earn more GP by challenging other real players in the game. GP are the main goal here : Outlaws City Toplists are based on these!

You can't learn everything by reading the tutorial, but the rest, you can learn through playing the game.
To have an effective character, you must buy the right equipment at the poker shop, equip it and train your players skills in your home page. Then you have to enter a poker area on the map, and "launch challenges" against weaker opponents there! The best place to start is the Poker Street, go here and challenge some level 1 and level 2 opponents! When you click to challenge someone, the game is played automatically. (You have to wait 10 seconds then the person with the better skill and items will be the winner), you wont lose all your PC (Poker chipz) but you will lose at least some, so you will often need to rest between battles to recover some lost chipz. (one time per hour you will recover points based on your Bankroll Management amount named BKM)
If you haven't got enough Forums Credits to train your character or buy items in the poker shop, you can post on forum (NO SPAM) or work as dealer in the poker club : Working as a dealer is the faster option, just go to the Poker Club on the map and select the number of hours you would like to work. You can stop working before the end but you will lose 2 EXP! In addition to the FC earned, you will recover your PC (Poker Chipz) twice as fast while working. The amount of FC (Forums Credits) you can earn per hour will grow as your level gets higher. You won't be able to launch challenges while working!

You will be able to challenge other real players only after you reach level 2. For now, you can only challenge the game characters, So start practicing!

How can I challenge other real players?
You have to go to the Poker Club in order to challenge other real players, you must be at least level 2 before you can challenge real players and if you try to challenge someone more than 1 level below your own level, it will cost you some of your GP to do so. If someone has challenged you recently (less than 3 days) you can challenge him back even if he is far away from your poker level and you won't pay Glory Points for aiming back to him that way. It won't cost anything to target players from a higher level than you but beware they will then be able to target you for free too (one time). Take care : The players stats showing through Poker Club are the ones without equipment & boosts, your opponent will certainly be much stronger than his basic statistics!

What happen if I'm down to zero Poker chipz? Am I deleted?
You will just need to wait for a few hours to recover your Poker Chipz (one time per hour at zero on the clock server time) based on your bankroll management amount (BKM). You could buy a recovery boost in the poker shop too but take care those are expensive through the first level of the game (compared to the maximum you could buy per poker level). You need 10% of your maximum Poker Chipz to be able to launch new challenges!

They are players I can't see in the poker club, how can I challenge them?
You can't! To protect newbies no level 1 can challenge other players and no one can challenge them. It's the same for the other possibilities : If you have yet the Silver or Gold Pass you won't be able to challenge anyone who haven't got at least your pass, on the other hand, to keep a fair setup they won't be able to challenge you either. You can pay Glory Points to challenge easier targets but a free challenge must be fair.

How exactly the Glory Points system works?
You will earn one Glory Point when reaching a new Poker Level, GP are used to rank players on toplists in Outlaws City but you can use them too (and then go down on toplist unfortunately) to challenge players outside your range (more than 1 level below you), it will then costs you one GP per level of difference between you and your opponent after one : If you want to challenge a level 4 while you are level 7 it will cost you 7-4-1=2 GP! You can win Glory Points too by challenging a player having at least the same amount of GP than you and within your range (from one level below to any poker level) : You will then score one GP if you win the challenge. There will be soon Tournaments too where you will face all kind of players and earn tons of Glory Points... But we need much more players before launching that!

How can I get experience points?
- You have one main way to grab EXP : Win challenges against players or game characters (in the poker areas or in the poker club). If you play against a game character of the same level than you you will earn 1 EXP if you win and zero if you lose, against a a game character of a lower level than you you won't earn experience and against some higher players you'll have one more EXP point per level of difference. If you play against a player of the same level than you minus one you will earn 1 EXP, against a player of the same level than you a victory will forward you 2 EXP and against some higher players you'll have one more EXP point per level of difference!

- The second way to grab experience is to push a game character or a player on tilt, that's based on your reading skill compared to his pokerface, if you have a lot more REA and his PKF you should see the Poker mental of your opponent going down a lot, if he will hit 0% you have tilted him and that will earn you 2 bonus experience points regardless of whether you win or not at the end. Against real players you will always have that bonus, against game characters, they have to be no more than 5 levels below you otherwise it won't trigger any extra EXP point.

What are the different kinds of objects I could buy in the poker shop and about buying a home?
You can buy 5 types of items from the shop that you can equip your character with, they are: 1. Glasses 2. Hats 3. Clothes 4. Boosts 5. Homes

Glasses, Hats and Clothes
You can equip one of each of these onto your character to raise stats. Even though you can only have one of each equipped at a time, you can have as many as you want in your inventory. They can be upgraded to make the bonus gained from them even higher. This costs FC and counts towards your spend limit for that level, but all unused from you limit will be carried over for the next level too.

Boosts
Boosts can help to raise your stats temporarily, but can be very expensive at first. They are different to the above items as boosts can only be used one time then you must buy another one before you can use it again. The higher your level, the more affordable you will find the boosts become.

Homes
Homes boost your stats only when another real player challenges you. It is like your homeground advantage. The best home in your inventory is automatically selected and equipped. Homes can also be upgraded using the same method as above.

Why can't I launch more challenges?
There are many reasons you could see a message informing you you can't do more challenges for a few minutes or some other reason. Here are all the limits :
- You can't play more than 3 challenges against game characters per 20 minutes period. (Without use of a special boost)
- You will have to wait 20 minutes if you've lost a challenge against a game character and want to challenge them again.
- You will have to wait next day (server time is GMT-8) to challenge a game character again if you've already won against him.
- The same limit apply to real players, if you have enough Glory points to challenge him (or if it's free) : If you lose you'll have to wait 20 minutes, if you win you'll have to wait until the next day.
- You can't challenge more than one real player per 20 minute period.
- You can't launch more than 30 challenges a day (game characters or players).
- You can't be targeted or launch any challenge if you have less than 10% of your total Poker chipz amount.
- You can't launch any challenge if you are working as dealer (but you can be challenged!)

It seems high level players I've attacked can challenge me back for free, what's that?
That's right, if high level players will need to pay glory points to target you, if you are bully enough to challenge them they will then have one free rataliation through the next 3 days to challenge you back (won't cost any glory points). So beware : You can challenge anyone in your range (same Pass than you) but that doesn't mean you can try your luck on any target without the possibility of them retaliating.

What is the Gamebox?
The gamebox is like the private messages on forum but will only forward you important informations through the game (you can't write to other players, use forums private messages for that! All Outlaws City players have a forum account with same name!), if you are offline it doesn't mean you can't be challenged by other players : You will receive a message in your gamebox to inform you who challenged you! Sometimes you'll have some free items, you will have such information in your gamebox too. Check out your messages often. At the top right of the city map you will see how many unread messages you have! You will be informed there when you'll reach a new level too.

Which skills should I train?
All the skills are important but if you want a good start while keeping the opportunity to change as you see fit later, you should push a good amount of points in your bluff skill and then a well balanced setup behind. Bluff is very effective to winning challenges, it will be hard to play a character focused only on bluff because you will lose tons of Poker Chipz and you'll need to often wait to recover those before next games. Targeting REA (Reading skill) too is effective because it will lower your opponent's overall stats and give you more experience by pushing the players to tilt. INT and PKF are important too, they are more defensive skills which keep your Poker Chipz & poker mental safe and allow you to play more games each day from that. BKM is the key to recover lost Poker chipz, it will affect the amount you'll recover each hour and you can carry more objects as your BKM gets higher, it is used in challenges too and will reduce the total amount of lost Poker Chipz at the end of each challenge. We can't explain you much more, the game is about discovering all of that : Don't worry you will have tons of points to push in your skills and you'll be able to fix any wrongly spent points very fast!

Dealer work? What's that exactly?
In the poker club you will notice a special button about working as dealer, it's an automatic feature which will forward you forums credits based on your poker level each hour! You can't launch any challenges while working there but other real players can still target you, you will be informed in the gamebox about that when you return to the game. For example at level 1 you will earn 50 forums credits per hour, a wire will be done each hour at zero on the clock server time, if you've selected too many hours and would like to cancel the rest of your work it will costs you 2 Experience points but it's possible. In addition you will recover 2 times more Poker Chipz per hour while working and each 20 hours of work will forward you a special item (check your gamebox too, the total amount of hours worked as dealer is written on your home page in Outlaws City). Through the same idea you will have another free gift each 50 challenges you've played. You don't need to keep the page opened or stay connected to the internet : All tasks will continue automatically while offline. So don't forget to work as a dealer before sleeping and you'll have credits every morning!

I've got the silver pass and I see some new upgrades, what's that?
So you've finally won against the silver bluffmaster (level 9 in Underground Poker Area)? You then have earn the Silver Pass allowing you to enter the 3 next areas full of higher level game characters : Poker Pub, Poker School & Poker College! But that's not all, the pass will offer you the possibility to upgrade all your items (including your home) to silver level! It works exactly like the first upgrades of objects but cost a lot more. When your item will hit silver rank you will then be able to upgrade it again (if you've paid the upgrade at first rank that price is decucted from the silver rank upgrade cost). When you'll beat the Gold Bluffmaster (level 29) you will earn the gold pass and can repeat these steps by upgrading your items to Gold Rank.

So the game is infinite, could I be level 1000?
No you can't! The limit is 51 poker levels "only", it should take weeks or even months to hit such a rank and you will still have tons of things to do there to grab first ranks on the Glory points toplist. Level 51 will have much more available as maximum amount they could buy and some extra stuff too. If you really love the game because of the levelling up you will be able to "remort" : It means going back from 51 to level 1 with a huge extra bonus towards the maximum you can buy per level in skills and objects (your skills will be down to 10), meaning a stronger character than everyone else... Beware it will take weeks again to hit level 51. Technically you could take any number of remorts and grab each time an extra bonus, but it will take years... On the other hand you can have an extra bonus by hitting 1000 challenges! The game is done to stay fun even after months of play and we will add soon a trade system which will add a new dimension to the game (tournaments too).

How does the card system work?
The card manager is an extra page you will see only when you find (or buy from another player) your first card, don't worry if you do not find it for now! The "cards" work like extra equipment granting you a bonus based on a percentage of your skills ( without other equipment and boosts! ), you need to equip 2 cards to have any effect from them and the better your hand will be ( based on Texas Holdem starting hands ) the higher bonus % you'll have.
Here is the list of important info :

- A spade will boost BLF, a heart INT, a club REA and a diamond PKF!
- 2 cards not of the same suit, not a pair & not connected : Bonus is based on the cards only ( a Jack give more than a 2 )
- 2 connected cards : You'll have an extra bonus
- 2 suited cards : You'll have an extra bonus
- 2 suited connectors : You'll have a very good extra bonus
- any pair : You'll have a very good extra bonus ( a bit more than for suited connectors )
- Starred cards : Cards can have zero, one, two or three stars, they will highten the bonus a lot and the % of BKM you could have is based on the total number of stars too, find 3 stars kings and aces to rule the game!
- If your 2 cards got the same number of stars ( zero will work ) : You'll have an additionnal bonus too.
- Last tip : a seven and a two will grant you an additionnal BLF bonus ( only if 7 and 2 are unsuited, offcourse an Ace and king of spade will offer much more as total effect but 7-2 could be a cheap good start! )
To find cards you will need to have a high Poker Level in the game : Only game characters having at least one skill (BLF,INT,REA,PKF or BKM) higher than 99 will give you a chance to find a card in case of victory against them and your chance will only be 10% each time! You will be informed in the summary of the challenge and through a message in Gamebox too. The odds to find a card aren't based on poker, you will find much more often low cards than aces : If you find a starred Ace you could sell it, some players will give you a lot for it... Read next section here about trading cards!
New add : You can now buy cards for 50.000 Forums Credits at the poker shop but those will be only cards without star ( price will count towards the maximum limit per level you can buy in objects, please note that odds aren't based on poker : You have less chance to hit a King than a 3! )

How can I trade cards? Can I really earn money from that?
That will be a lot of fun : You will be able to sell and buy cards for Bullets! A first important point is we won't make direct money from that, the only ones able to sell you cards will be the other players themselves. The system will simply use your bullets amount : If you've won a few cents from a freeroll or if you are yet playing a lot on real money side you have now a way to grab a cheap extra bonus for Outlaws City (the bullets)! If you have no money there and don't plan to make a real money deposit do not worry. you can buy some bullets with your FC. but of course the better way to earn bullets is to play on real money table and the best is the outlaws tournaments. but the game will stay totally playable without the trade system : 1) Cards could help but are in fact only a small boost and 2) you can simply sell cards if you find some and buy some others from that ( or sell cards for bullets then sell those for real money and play poker offcourse! ).

To sell or buy a card you 2 option.
- Go to the subforum zone there : Click here to enter trade area on forum, you will find offers and card requests there ( for example if you have a 6 of heart and would like a 5 or 7 of heart to have a suited connector you can create a thread for that ). You will find more info about trade on the card manager page, click on the trade link there and you'll see the system is quite easy : Choose a player you want to sell ( after having a deal from forum through PM or thread ), choose your card, setup a price and confirm ( the other player will receive a message in gamebox where they can reject or accept the trade )!
- Go to the auction system here you can see all auction with bid and fixed price. if you havent any bullets you can go to the bullets factory here here to buy some with your FC or with your real money (if you have a real money account)
if you already play real money table you can check if you have earn bullets by one click here.

We hope the tutorial helps you to start on your way to level 51, you'll see yourself, the game is in fact really easy but if you have any further question after reading this page or playing the game, you can ask on our special Outlaws City forum here : http://www.onlinepoker66.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=32

Have a good game and good luck!
